I have been meaning to write a little update about our launch of Original Art & Gifts in 2004; finally I made the time to thank you. Your response to our Website has been very encouraging and I feel my first attempt at building web pages has been well received. Thank you for the helpful tips to improve our site; they were very much appreciated. I do try and change things a little each month and I said to Derek the other day, I need to paint faster so that we can get more variety of work out there for you to view.
We are so pleased with everyone’s comments about the success of OAG (Original Art & Gifts). The kudos for my paintings and my ability to do the custom work have been very gratifying; everyone who does art of any kind knows, as the artist you always feel you could have done a little more to make it perfect. With all this praise I relax a little more and enjoy each and every minute of the paintings. Thank you.
Since July I have been commissioned to do 11 custom paintings. How lucky am I??
Derek is quite the salesman for my work and has been sharing our company history and abilities everywhere he goes. I am very excited about one of his marketing ideas for me. He spoke with the Owner/Editor of a magazine called Caledon Living and I am pleased to say that I shall be featured in their April Magazine. There will be a photo of one of the houses I painted and they will run a contest, encouraging people to send a picture of their home showing off it's best curb appeal. They will have 3 judges that will choose the best photo and I will then paint the home of the winner and it will be featured again in their August Issue. Thanks to Derek, 60 thousand people will be able to view my work and hear about Original Art & Gifts. (I must give that man a raise!!!!)
I was hoping to get into the art show at Nathan Phillips Square this summer. After viewing the requirements I would need about 30 original pieces and I know I can't be ready in time. My goal this year is to try and work towards that number and perhaps I will be able to apply to the Jury next March. I shall however join some of the very reputable art groups in the Peel Region and perhaps I will be able to share a show later this year with one or two of them. It is always inspiring to work and spend time with other artists.
We had a very busy time at Christmas with gift baskets and have only just finished all the inventory counting and paper work required, completing 2004.
I will be adding a page to our website with more gift ideas in the very near future; I have been working on it and feel it is almost ready to go.
Watch to see Upcoming Shows. I know Derek will be out there looking for places for us to show paintings and some of the other lovely art and gifts we have. With Derek marketing for us I know it is only a matter of time before something else is arranged.
