Individually handcrafted on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, from West Coast clay, each Island Ocarina is unique. Much time and precision are used in the creation process to ensure the quality of each piece, which are finely tuned by ear and checked with a highly accurate tuner. Each instrument is signed, then burnished to give it a smooth look and feel. The tools used to craft the instruments are mostly handmade, as well as the clay stamps used on the mouthpieces. Each flute is earthenware fired to over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit for durability.
